Fergie's latest op-ed:
For as long as I can remember the liberals and Democrats have portrayed conservatives and Republicans as hateful thugs
that would rather watch as children die of starvation than let a penny depart from a CEO's pocket. They, as claimed by themselves,
were the party of inclusion and tolerance. Well, as they say, the proof is in the pudding.
As a kid who didn't care a bit about politics I still managed to remember President Reagan's adversaries most often using
the word "stupid" to describe him. All this, of course, while telling the public how much of a hateful man he was
and what an odious party that he belonged to.
Let's look at some members of the left wing and how they show their compassion. Tammy Bruce, a Reagan Democrat who was
once the head of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW, wrote about the friends that had a bottle of champagne chilling in the refrigerator
for the day that President Reagan passes away. This past June these hateful liberals were able to "celebrate". Listed
below are some quotes taken from the website www.democraticunderground.com that clearly illustrate how some on the left are
choosing to show their compassion:
May he burn in hell.....(if there were such a place, that is).
The Great Communicator. Kind of like what we have now. Couldn't string two sentences together without a teleprompter and
a week of coaching. Good bye and good riddance. I have more sympathy for the thousands of peoples lives he f****d up ON PURPOSE
while he was still breathing. I have no sympathy for people that spend their lives hurting others. If it was my own family
member, I would say the same thing. Flush him.
Satan incarnated.
Reagan facilitated the flowering of Christian right wing politics that spreads intolerance across the land. Reagan, in
the end, was the intestine that produced the s*** we know as Bush.
He will not and should not rest in peace. Reagan did so much damage to so many people. He had enormous power as president
of the US, and could have used it for good. But he chose not to. He chose to abuse that power in criminal ways. His soul will
burn in hell for the poor that he refused to help, that he mocked, that he deprived of assistance. His soul will burn in hell
for the people murdered by the right-wing death squads that he set up and funded in Central America. His soul will burn for
the damage his right wing extremist agenda and his right wing minions continue to wreak on this country. Condolences to his
family. But Reagan himself deserves to rot in the darkest pits of hell.
Welcome to the new face of the American left. At least the last guy gave condolences to the Reagan family. I'm in no way
saying that all liberals are this cruel and horrible. In fact, many on the mentioned website simply gave their condolences
and let the issues and their differences with Reagan go. But these same people are the ones who on one hand can call President
George W. Bush a "stupid, hateful warmonger" but stand by idle while peers around them desecrate a former President.
Juxtapose the hateful speech by these venom spewing hate mongers against the reaction from conservatives to the news this
week that former President Clinton needs emergency bypass surgery. President Bush mentioned the news of Clintons impending
surgery to a crowd gathered to support him in his re-election bid. According to the Associated Press the crowd jeered as President
Bush stood by and said nothing. It’s too bad for the writer of that story that there is an audio bite of the crowd
reaction to go along with the video proving his dream of an anti-Clinton rally.
Go to the forums of www.politicscafe.com or www.rightnation.com to see the reaction by conservatives to the news of Clinton's
health problems. You will find the occasional snide remark said in jest but by and far the reaction was extremely sympathetic
and heartfelt. I wish I could say the same for some of our friends on the left.
This election season seems to have brought out the worst in the new party of intolerance. While the GOP spent most of
their time attacking Senator Kerry's life in Washington at their convention this past week John Kerry saw fit to come out
swinging at the crack of midnight following President Bush's acceptance speech. The GOP spoke of Kerry's voting record; Kerry
spoke of deferments issued to Vice-President Dick Cheney. Keep in mind that the Bush campaign has never once impugned John
Kerry's wartime credentials. In fact, President Bush said this past week that Kerry by far had a better military record. Kind
words from a kind leader.
What have we heard from the compassionate left this election cycle? We've heard Howard Dean float the theory that President
Bush knew about 9/11 ahead of time. We've heard Dennis Kucinich tell the media that we are targeting civilians in Iraq. We've
heard former Vice-President Al Gore tell a crowd of supporters that President Bush "betrayed this country" in his
newly adopted hysterical manner. We've heard Senator Ted Kennedy say President Bush concocted a war in Texas for political
gain. All this from the party that purportedly has a stranglehold on compassion and tolerance. Tolerance, that is, if your
not a conservative.
As I said before it is ridiculous to say that all liberals act like these overbearing role models for future blame-America-first
monsters. But, it is undeniable that the leaders of this party are partaking in some of the wildest, craziest and most hateful
speech of any campaign we have ever seen. After this election cycle it is entirely understandable why Senator Zell Miller
is so full of "rage" towards his own party. Unless the sane wing of the Democratic Party steps up and takes the
reigns away from these wild-eyed crazies the future of the DNC is indeed bleak. Senator Joe Lieberman, I think I see an opportunity
for you.
